ROOTED IN SOUTH LOUISIANA

Some places quietly decide the kind of homes that belong there. For Chapel & Cypress, that place is South Louisiana.

Our work starts with the way the air feels at dusk, the weight of a summer storm rolling in over the water, and the way people naturally gather on porches long after the sun has slipped away. Design here has to do more than look good on a mood board. It has to stand up to heat and weather, welcome sandy feet and muddy paws, and feel just as inviting on a gray January morning as it does on a bright festival weekend.

Sun going down, clouds rolling in.

A perfect color palette.

We pull from the architecture and materials that have always made sense in this place: deep overhangs, generous porches, honest woods, thoughtful shade, and pair them with how families live now. It’s not nostalgia; it’s a way of honoring what’s proven itself in this climate while making room for today’s rhythms.

The result is a home that feels like you and unmistakably like South Louisiana.

Look at these colors!

This place shapes the way we think about home.

The light. The heat. The way people gather without needing a reason. The rhythm of doors opening, meals stretching longer than planned, conversations that move from inside to out without interruption.

That’s what we carry into every home we design.

Spaces that breathe in this climate. Rooms that hold people comfortably, whether it’s a quiet morning or a backyard filled with friends, music, and a pot of crawfish boiling. Materials that feel right here, not imported in spirit from somewhere else.

A home should feel like it belongs to the land, to the way you live, and to you.

If you’re looking for a home that carries that kind of presence, something thoughtful, grounded, and deeply livable…we’d love to build it with you.
