FROM OPEN STUDS TO SUNDAY SUPPERS: A KITCHEN TRANSFORMATION

Every project begins with possibility.

This kitchen was no exception.

The process…

This project began with plans already in place. With thoughtful review, many challenges could have been resolved early because scale, placement, and spatial flow define how a home is experienced.

The original layout limited both flow and function with a small island and an awkward peninsula that disrupted the space and constrained movement.

But within that structure was opportunity.

Airy and bright even in a small space

Through thoughtful reworking, the plan opened into a more intentional layout. Cabinetry was kept light to lift the room, while a soft, layered palette created continuity and calm.

A tailored blue was introduced as a nod to the homeowner’s personality. A subtle but meaningful moment of expression.

What began as a weird layout and space constraint became a space designed for everyday living — from morning coffee to Sunday supper.
